Jewish Christmas

Sorry I’ve been AWOL – this move and relocation have been hectic. First off, I want to wish everyone a belated Happy Holidays. This year, being away from the family for Christmas, I decided to just go ahead and have my very first Jewish Christmas. First I ate Chinese food:

I’ll have a lot to say about NT2 at a later date, but with the obvious exception of “The Rock”, this may be my favorite Nick Cage action movie.

I only bring this up because Matthew Yglesias found two great links about this phenonmenon, and I’m sharing them with you here. First is this video, which is a solid B:

Second is this paper – “New York Jews and Chinese Food: The Social Construction of an Ethnic Pattern”, Contemporary Ethnography, 1992: Vol 22 No 3. pp. 382-407. The paper is a fun read. Enjoy!
