I missed this. Former Fed Chairman Paul Volcker has endorsed Obama for President. And this was back in January. Here’s former Volcker speechwriter Larry Kudlow being surprised.
Volcker was last noted in the public sphere for saying that the bailout of Bear Sterns was less than great.
I heard from a friend just the other day that Warren Buffet has announced his official support of Obama as well, but I haven’t verified it. Have you heard this?
And, for the record, although I’m not an economist, I agree with Volcker’s stance on the Bear Stearns bailout out of sheer principle.
